For those people who are interested in the study of Bible Prophesy and the future, myself included, sometimes we get caught up in the facination with exact dates. This page is evidence of that foolishness.

    • I recently wrote a letter to M.J. Agee, listing three reasons why I didn't think the Rapture could be pinpointed to May 31, 1998 or any date. My strongest argument were the scriptures that refer to "not knowing the day or the hour" of Christ's return. However, those scriptures refer to the fact that nobody knew at that time. In fact, the people alive when Christ came the first time were specifically told that they were not to know.

    [Acts 1:6] So when they had come together, they asked him, "Lord, will you at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?"

    [Acts 1:7] He said to them, "It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has fixed by his own authority.

    You can see that the date was pre-set by God even at that time. Finally, much of scripture is said to be specifically written for our benefit, for those who live at the time of the end, or in the last days. Who else could possibly benefit from the warnings about the Mark of the Beast?

    Finally, I do think that the rapture is coming very, very, very, VERY soon, because of the Year 2000 computer problem.

    Psa. 122:3,4 (New Jerusalem Bible) says, "Jerusalem, built as a city, in ONE UNITED WHOLE, there the tribes go up, the tribes of Yahweh, A SIGN for Israel to give thanks to the name of Yahweh."

    When Israel grew leaves (Sinai, Gaza Strip, West Bank and Golan Heights) and fulfilled the fig tree parable of Mt. 24:32-34 in the Six-Day War of 1967, there was only one 40-year generation left. This war was the SIGN OF THE END OF THE AGE (Mt. 24:3). 1967 + 40 = 2007, the end of the age.

    The millennial Day of the Lord begins on Tishri 1, 5768, the Feast of Trumpets, our Sept. 13, 2007 (Joel 2:1,2). Dan. 8:14's 2300 days (counted by Jewish inclusive reckoning) when the Jews can sacrifice at the temple plus the time that they cannot because the False Prophet desecrates it, start on the Feast of Weeks/Pentecost, Sivan 6, 5761, our May 28, 2001, and end on the Feast of Trumpets, Tishri 1, 5768. We have already outlived any other time within the forty-years of probation that any similar period equals 2300 days. There is no other.

    The year 5768 must be a leap year, and it is, for the Second Advent is seven months later (Ezek. 39:12) on Nisan 1 (Ezek. 29:17,21; Hosea 6:3). Since the Jewish leap year is roughly every three years, this date cannot be slid backward or forward one or two years in either direction.

    The time between the Pre-Trib Rapture and the beginning of the Seventieth Week of Daniel (the Tribulation) is presented in the parable of the barren fig tree (Israel See Lu. 13:6-9). The four Jewish years are Pentecost to Pentecost, 5758, 5759, 5760 and 5761 (our 1998, 1999, 2000 and 2001).

    1998 has more going for it than any other year we have had. It is Israel's Jubilee Year. May 14, 1948, when Israel was resurrected, was Pentecost on the "Biblical" calendar, where only the new moon sighting is taken into consideration. The 50th year will begin this Pentecost, May 31, 1998. As it so happens, the "Biblical," "Hebraic" and "Talmudic" calendars all have Pentecost on Sunday, May 31, in 1998.

    1998 is the 6000th year since man began to be tested as mortal and knowing both good and evil.

    Counted from the time that Israel took the temple area in 1967, the Levitical priesthood is now over 30 and ready to officiate in the temple. Now, we are believer priests in the spiritual temple of the Holy Spirit. When we are raised up, it is time for the literal temple to be raised up (rebuilt) and Israel to take over the priesthood.

    God's clock for Israel stopped on Pentecost in 30 AD. It would be just like the Lord to restart Israel's clock on Pentecost in 2001. There are seven years of Daniel's seventy weeks of years yet to run. On that day, the Holy Spirit will probably be poured out on Moses and Elijah to empower them for their 1260 days of prophesying during the first half of the Tribulation. If we back up the four Jewish years in the parable of the barren fig tree, we arrive at Pentecost for the Rapture of the Church also. In 30 AD, the Spirit of Christ came to fill the disciples on Pentecost. I think Christ will come to catch up those that are filled with the Holy Spirit on Pentecost this year.

    Jack Langford saw something that I had not seen and came up with the same date for the Rapture, Pentecost, May 31, 1998 (Jerusalem time). Our only difference is that he thinks it will be at 9:00 AM, as when Peter was preaching on Pentecost in 30 AD. However, Acts 2:6 says, "Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together." That took some time for the news to travel and the multitude to assemble. I think it is midnight (Jerusalem time), all in a moment. We see it in the parable of the 10 virgins, also when Paul and Silas were in jail. At midnight, there was an earthquake. In a moment all the doors were opened and all shackles fell off. Things happened to Israel for examples for us upon whom the ends of the ages has come.

    What Jack saw is this. What was played out in days in 30 AD is now being played out in years. In 30 AD, there was the Crucifixion (portrayed by the holocaust, burnt offering), the Resurrection after 3 days, and Pentecost on the 50th day. In our days, the Holocaust of the Jews (called the Crucifixion of the Jews in some books) ended in 1945. Three years later, Israel was resurrected. Fifty years later, Christ comes to the Church on Pentecost.

    I am not a prophet, nor have I ever said the Rapture has to happen on this date. I have studied hard ever since about 1957, and this is how it looks to me. Study the scriptures to see if these things are so. I prayed for the Lord to give me understanding of all the things he wanted man to know about the Bible, all the deep things--everything.
